Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United: Striker confirms free transfer to join Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed he will become a Manchester United player this summer after agreeing a one-year deal with the Red Devils.

The Sweden star revealed via his official Twitter account on Thursday that he has signed for the Red Devils after departing Paris Saint-Germain at the
end of last season.

He tweeted: "Time to let the world know. My next destination is @ManUtd."

He will now link back up with Jose Mourinho, who Ibrahimovic played under at Inter Milan for one season, in Manchester following the Red Devils' appointment of the former Chelsea manager on a three-year contract.

The news brings an end to the speculation surrounding Ibrahimovic's future after the 34-year-old left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season following four successful years in France.

The striker marked the end of his contract at the Parc des Princes by becoming PSG's top scorer in a single Ligue 1 season with his 38 strikes in May before admitting he had received several offers for his services, including clubs in the Premier League.

Arsenal and West Ham were credited to be interested in Ibrahimovic, but the forward has chosen to join up with Mourinho at United where he will have to forsake Champions League football next season.
