Sen. Abaribe Signed IPOD Leader, Nnamdi Kanu Bail Bond of N100m



Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia-Central Senatorial District and  the  Chairman, South East Senate caucus and former Deputy Governor of Abia State on Friday 28 April, 2017 signed the bail bond of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.



Among Senator Abaribe was a
Chartered Accountant residing in Abuja, Tochukwu Uchendu and a Jewish High Priest, Immanuu-El Shalom Okabemaduwere who was flown from Port Harcourt to Abuja was present to stand as a surety.

It will be recalled that on Tuesday Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja granted Nnamdi Kanu’s bail on health grounds.Three sureties, consisting of a serving Senator, a Jewish religious leader and a traditional leader from the South-East was given as the bail condition. Each of the sureties is to provide N100 million bond and must own a landed property in Abuja.

Justice Binta Nyako had earlier said that Kanu's bail will be revoked if he flouts any of the orders in his bail condition, one of which states that he is not to be in a gathering of more than 10 people.
